Orienteering
Congratulations to our Orienteering team who performed incredibly well at the Interschool Carnival today. Battling some tough conditions, our students gave it their all and have come away from the carnival with some very impressive results! Well done to all the team for focusing on their personal best to achieve these results. A huge thank you to Ms Upchurch for organising this opportunity for our students.
P & C
The P & C Mother’s Day Movie is happening at the cinemas this coming Friday 8 May. This is a fantastic opportunity for LGPS Mums to get together and enjoy a movie (and some child free time!). Head to the P & C Facebook to purchase a ticket. Additionally, we have a P & C Meeting Tuesday evening, 7pm. New members are always welcome!
Assembly
This coming assembly (Tuesday 5 May) is an information/general assembly only, with no classroom presenting an item. However, we will still be celebrating the success of our students and welcome your attendance.
Kindergarten Enrolments 2027
We are now accepting Kindy applications for 2027. If your child is born between July 1 2022 and June 30 2023, they are eligible to enrol at LGPS for 2027. The application window will be open throughout Term 2, and close early in Term 3. At which stage we will then review all applications and advise parents of a position by the end of August. If you would like to apply to enrol your child at LGPS, please follow the link below.

Celebrating Our Staff at Little Grove Primary School
At Little Grove Primary School, our staff play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. Behind every positive classroom, playground interaction and learning success is a team of dedicated educators working together to bring our school values to life each day.
Our Positive and Safe Learning Environment Team (PASLET) endeavours to support both student and staff wellbeing, recognising that valued and supported staff create the best outcomes for students. We celebrate the important work our teachers do in promoting our school expectations: Be Responsible, Show Respect, Be Open to Learning and Build Resilience.

PASLET TEAM
Each time a staff member awards a Groovy Grover, they are entered into our weekly Staff Muster Draw and Term Super Draw, with prizes such as coffee, chocolate, duty cover and potentially… prime parking spots.
Staff also recognise one another through “Sensational Staffer” notes—messages of appreciation shared at staff meetings that help to foster a culture of gratitude, connection and positivity among our team.
We are proud to have such a dedicated and supportive staff at Little Grove. Their dedication to our students and to each other is what makes our school such a positive place to learn and grow.
WEEKLY BEHAVIOUR FOCUS
Next week, students will be focusing on showing respect, with a particular emphasis on keeping hands and feet to themselves when lining up.
We’ll be encouraging everyone to be mindful of personal space, make safe choices, and demonstrate respect for others in all school settings. Lining up calmly and safely helps create a positive environment for everyone and sets the tone for a great day of learning. Thank you for helping us reinforce these important values at home!

Permapleat Online Ordering
Have you noticed the change in weather lately? 🌧️ It might also be a good time to check if your child has outgrown last year’s jumpers and winter uniform items.
We are pleased to remind families that Permapleat offers an online ordering portal specifically for our school uniform. Orders can be placed easily at any time using the link provided below, and this will also be available on our school website for ongoing access.
Thank you for your continued support.

Year 5 & 6 Orienteering Carnival – Simply AMAZING!
WOW, WOW, WOW — what an absolutely incredible day for Little Grove!
Our Year 5 and 6 students took on the Orienteering Carnival with energy, determination, and serious skill — and the results were nothing short of AMAZING. Despite a few light showers, nothing could slow our students down!
Little Grove didn’t just compete… we DOMINATED:
🏆 Overall Champions
🏆 Year 5 Champions
🏆 Year 6 Champions
And it gets even better — an unbelievable 10 out of 12 podium places were claimed by our students across the two year levels!
Podium Results:
Year 6 Girls: 2nd Jade, 3rd Isla
Year 6 Boys: 1st Ollie, 2nd Eric, 3rd Stormy
Year 5 Girls: 2nd Leila, 3rd Macey
Year 5 Boys: 1st Beau, 2nd Osar, 3rd Archie

This is an outstanding achievement and a true reflection of the talent, teamwork, and perseverance we see every day at Little Grove. We couldn’t be prouder of every student who took part — you were outstanding!
What a day. What a team. What a result!
Cross Country & Fitness Club
In PE lessons and at Fitness Club, the focus will be on each student trying their best with a positive “I can do it” attitude. Students are encouraged to improve on their own Personal Best (PB).
Over the coming weeks, students will have three opportunities during PE lessons to be timed running the course, allowing them to establish and improve their PB. This year, individual results will be made available to all students in Years 1–6 in the undercover area.
If your child is in Years 1–6, please encourage them to attend Fitness Club on Monday and Thursday mornings. These sessions give students the chance to practise their running and build stamina for the upcoming Cross Country Carnival.
Students are training to complete the following number of laps of the school oval, which corresponds to the distance they will run on carnival day:
Years 1–2: 3 laps
Years 3–4: 5 laps
Years 5–6: 6 laps
Happy running, everyone!
If you’re in Year 1-6 come and join us every Monday and Thursday from 8:30 to 8:45 for fitness club! We would love to see you there.

Walk to School
Get ready to lace up those shoes and bring some energy to your mornings—because active kids are healthy kids! We’re excited to invite our school community to take part in Walk Safely to School Day, a fun and meaningful way to start the day while building healthy habits.
Join us on Monday 18th May and Thursday 21st May as we walk, skip, and stride our way to school together! Whether you're coming with friends, family, or meeting up along the way, every step counts toward a healthier, happier you.
👨👩👧👦 Safety first! Remember: children under 10 should always hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road. Let’s make it safe and fun.
So, why not swap the car ride for fresh air, smiles, and a little adventure? Let’s show our community how we move—with energy, confidence, and big smiles!
🌟 Let’s get motivated and make every step count!
