Year 6 Camp
To commence Term 4, our Year 6 students head off on their camp for three days at Camp Quaranup. It is an action-packed schedule that I know our students are going to absolutely love and have an amazing time. Camp is one of the best experiences for students during their time at Primary School; however, it does come with an enormous amount of planning and time committed from staff so I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Gatward, Chappy and Mrs Lilly who are all attending the camp to ensure it is a success and something our students remember for a long time.
Faction Carnival
A massive thank you to our community for supporting our students last week at the Athletics Carnival. It was such a fantastic day and made even better by the large amount of you who came and cheered on throughout the day. Again, a huge thank you to our P & C and volunteers for helping on the day.

School Holidays
It has been a big Term with some exciting events happening across the school. Speaking to students this week - I know there are quite a few ready for the holiday break (and some Teachers too!). I wish you all a safe time and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 13 October.
Book Fair
During our recent School Learning Journey Night, we were thrilled to host a wonderful Book Fair! A huge thank you to Mrs Jury for all her hard work. Thanks to the amazing support from our school community, we raised a fantastic amount that will go towards adding new books and resources to our library. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

ROOM 4 ASSEMBLY
This week, Room 4 impressed us all as they bravely hosted our school assembly. Their focus was on managing big feelings, using a relatable story about a child reacting to a parent's "no"—a typical moment in any household. The message was clear: it’s okay to feel upset, but it’s even better to recognise the emotion, let it go, and move on.

They delivered their message with confidence and heart, and the tricycle race through the undercover area was a fun (and competitive!) recap of our recent Athletics Carnival.
Thank you, Room 4—you were fantastic!

HONOUR CERTIFICATES
Well-done to the following students who finished this term with a bang by working hard and receiving an honours certificates, amazing work Isla G, Holly B, Clint W, Pippa L, Skye F, Scarlett J, Jed N, Paul M, Amelia N, Shelby B, Arkadia D, Aliyah R, River A, Nina C, Reed G, Flynn T and Luca T.
AUSSIE OF THE MONTH
A big well done to Luke, who has been named this month’s Aussie of the Month! Luke was recognised for showing incredible kindness and generosity in our Nature Play area—sharing sticks and lending a hand to help others build their creations. Your thoughtful actions and teamwork haven’t gone unnoticed, Luke. Keep it up!

AUSLAN
Hip Hip Hooray for Veggie Day!
What fun we have had exploring vegetables in Auslan classes this week. Not only did students construct Veggie Critters and Vegetable Art, they consumed their healthy creations! This was a fun and engaging way for students to hone their signs in a meaningful and purposeful way. Thank you to everyone for sending in vegetables to make this possible. We are so lucky to have parents and carers that value and support our children’s’ education. I truly appreciate your generosity.

Veggie Day was also a lovely way for our students to recognise the National Week of Deaf People. NWDP is a weeklong national celebration of Deaf individuals and the Deaf Australian community. It is a time to celebrate the Deaf community, language, culture and history. This year the theme is “No Human Rights without Sign Language Rights”.
It’s important to recognise that learning Auslan here at Little Grove, helps make our community more inclusive.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE
On the 24th of September Luther and Sophie came to our school to teach our class contemporary dance. When they first introduced themselves, we all made a circle and shared our name and if we could be any animal what it would be.
We imitated the animals we chose whether they were big or small. We imitated them sleeping, waking up and using only our right and left arm to imitate them.
After that we played Pirates on Deck, where the captain called out a point on the ship and we had to run there. Also, we did little actions like scrubbing the deck, climbing the ladder, walking the plank and saluting the captain.

We imagined we were in space, we saw space debris, astronauts, rocket ships and aliens. Then we imagined we were in our own little worlds, and we imagined superman, Capy bara’s, worms and collapsing worlds.
CAR FREE DAY
There was a great buzz around Little Grove Primary as students and families celebrated World Car-Free Day! It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces walking, riding, and scooting their way to school.
A huge thank you to our amazing P&C for providing a fresh fruit spread, adding to the fun, vibrant community atmosphere. And a big shoutout to everyone who took part—you helped make the day a real success!
