Thats a wrap! Term 1 has certainly been packed with fun, learning and exciting experiences. Have a look below at what we got up to just this week. We hope that you all manage to have a bit of a break, spend quality time with your families and relax. We look forward to seeing you all back for Term 2 on Tuesday the 29th of April!
Room 3 Assembly
On Tuesday our wonderful room 3 students got up on stage to entertain us during our assembly, and what a brilliant job they did!
Using their wonderful reading and theatrical skills, room 3 told us all about how Murphy, their main character, could have planned things a bit better, kept things a little tidier and been a bit more organised. I think Murphy could do with a few lessons from room 3 who presented their assembly so well. Well, done to you all.

Ellis C, Lillian M, Oscar W, Ella M, Parker W, Hudson C, Max P, William H, Grace W, Kobe W, Henry S, Kaya K, Matilda M, Madeleine C, Xavier W, Luisa S.

AUSLAN News
Signs of the week
This week’s signs are “Auslan” and “Sign” which are very relevant to our celebrations.

Signing Star
This month’s signing star goes to Isla

AUSLAN Day
Auslan Day celebrates the rich history, culture, community and language of the Australian Deaf community by honouring the date of first publication of the Auslan dictionary. Professor Trevor Johnson (sign name: TJ) is a hearing coda (child of a deaf adult) from a large Deaf family. Through his involvement in the deaf community, he began to research the linguistics of Australian Sign Language. In 1989, he received his PhD from the University of Sydney. Auslan is a combination of the words “Australian” and “Sign Language”. Trevor published the first Australian Sign Language Dictionary on the 13th of April 1989.

Our school looked like colourful confetti on Monday and Tuesday as students chose their favourite colours to wear, in support of AUSLAN day. Don’t these photos look amazing!

Week 10 Colour and fun
Goodness me what a fun packed week we have had. As well as Auslan day, we also celebrated Harmony Day, a day of bringing people together no matter our differences. A wonderful day celebrating inclusivity!
Each student created their own unique chain link, symbolising each as a single unit, they then joined theirs to everyone in their class and later each class joined their link, until the whole school was joined in one big circle. Emphasizing what we can create when we all work together and include one another. What a wonderful concept.
Each class then told us what they had learnt in class about different cultures, languages, the meaning of harmony and reasons why we celebrate it.

Easter Hat Parade
We also got to celebrate Easter with our traditional Easter hat parade.... goodness me were we impressed with the effort and creativeness of our students, and parents. Thank you so much to everyone for putting in such a great effort. We were even given an extra treat seeing a few teachers busting out their favourite moves.
This week has been full of amazing festivities, and we hope you all have an amazing restful break over the holidays. We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday the 29th of April for Term 2!
